Shooting impact dice - only the stands behind a contacted ?

Does thr whole back rank of a MF shooting unit get to shoot , or only those directly behind a base that is fighting in impact ?

Example ---------------------

Lets say I have a battlecroup of 4 Cav as seen below

Lets say I have a battlecroup of 8 crossbow MF as seen below

The Cav charge down the page at the crossbow.

CCCC

How many impact shooting dice do I get in the impact phase ?
2 , 3 or 4 ????
