Weekly round-up
Two wins for NikiforosFokas (Jewish Revolt) this week means that he has overtaken klayeckles (Hepthalite) at the bottom of the table. So now it all depends on the very last match between these two players to decide the relegation place. In Division B Triarii (Kingdom of Soissons) has staggered over the winning line with a 3-1 defeat and a 2-2 draw to claim the automatic promotion spot ahead of rexhurley (Moorish). The five players in the top five positions in this very close division ended up with 5 wins each! In Division C Doyley50 (Roman) managed to get the points against GDod (Galatian) to climb above Barrold713 (Moorish) who is now relegated. In Division D a draw for uneducated (Jewish) in his last match means that he is the wooden spoonist for this section this time.

Weekly round-up
Two wins for Nosy_Rat (Khorasanian) this week means he will finish a very creditable second behind ruskicanuk (Breton). It seems almost certain that GDod (Ghaznavid) will be relegated although NikiforosFokas (Arab Conquest) still has 4 matches to finish and so far has only got 4 points. If GDod wins their match together and NikiforosFokas loses his other 3 matches then NikiforosFokas will be relegated. Nothing to report in Divisions B and C.

Weekly round-up
An exciting finish to Division A saw ianiow (of Arabia) emerge as the winner after defeating pantherboy (Kyrenean Greek) in a crucial match. After looking almost certain to win this section pantherboy suffered 3 defeats to finish second just ahead of harveylh (Achaemenid Persian) and Cunningcairn (Egyptian). At the bottom nyczar (Lydian) needs a point from his last match against XLegione (Carthaginian) to avoid relegation and send Morbio (Assyrian) to Division B. Nothing to report in Division B.

Battle of Phillipi: Universe 387

Geffalrus (Triumvirs) vs. Snugglebunnies (Liberators)

Current Score: 43-20 on Turn 14

Marc Antony doubled down on the flanking maneuver through the marsh and managed to get around the fortifications and rout some units. However, the Gaius Cassius was able to reinforce with some cavalry, stop the bleeding, and break some of the infiltrating units. The nearby cohorts stared at each other over the fortifications of Cassius's camp, with no action other than a single cohort of Triumvir storming a ballista battery.

To the south, Marcus Brutus surged out of his fortifications to engage Octavian's infantry and cavalry. A series of good rolls allowed the Triumvir cavalry to gain an early advantage and snowball into an overrun of the Liberator's far right flank. The infantry engaged head on, and Octavian's cohorts held just long enough for the cohorts helping the cavalry to swing around and flank the exposed Liberators. The victorious left flank under Octavian is now preparing to march north and fully envelop Cassius's fortifications.

Battle of Phillipi: Universe 524

Geffalrus (Liberators) vs. Snugglebunnies (Triumvirs)

Current Score: 43-32 on Turn 13

Not content to sit behind his walls, Gaius Cassius surged forward and engaged Marc Antony ASAP. In the marsh, some Pontic foot and Palmyran archers wiped out the Sneaky Spanish. The Liberator attack hit Antony's line before the flank forces in the march could return to assist, and the Liberators were able to get a couple cheeky flank attacks on some of the Triumvir cohorts. The Triumvir infantry had a quality edge overall, and fought back hard, but the Liberator marsh force was able to make some clutch flank attacks and tip the balance. The Liberators took heavy losses, but have mostly cleaned up Antony's forces.

To the south, Marcus Brutus made the bold choice to send most of his cavalry north to assist Cassius in the center. This drew Octavian's infantry to pivot north as well. Octavian's cavalry advanced against the diminished cavalry forces guarding Brutus's camp, but nearby infantry were able to pile into the melee and give victory to the Liberators. The rest of Cassius's infantry marched out to attack and delay Octavian's infantry.......but bad rolls and superior numbers were too much for the valiant infantry. During this crazy roiling melee, the Liberators snuck some light horse into the Triumvir base and eliminated the artillery supporting Octavian's advance. His infantry now sit between the tired, but victorious infantry of Cassius to the north, and the tired, but victorious cavalry of Brutus to the south.
