Campaign Editor: Settings Issues

Post by conboy »

All, anyone --
Note that the line/row for scenario "6 Volt" has only three options -- the Minor Victory and Major Victory spots have disappeared. Also note that the tab titles are blank. This is adversely affecting how the campaign works -- it won't proceed past this scenario.

I have tried deleting this scenario line and all below it, and entering new lines for the scenarios, but that does not resurrect the missing victory options.
It seems the offending 9th line (the one "Volt" occupies) appears to have some sort of persistence to keep the needed options out. I do not know what caused the change in the line/row characteristics.

Does anyone have any idea how to:
1) correct the issue by adding the missing Minor and Major Victory options (I have tried ...) and,
2) avoid/prevent this issue reoccurring in the future?
It is very problematic for gameplay -- campaign won't advance beyond this scenario.

Please advise.

Also, what is the purpose/meaning of the highlighted square in the selected "1 Casa" tile? (See below)

If anybody knows, please advise.
thanks in advance,

The highlighted square means the game will treat this as the starting branch/scenario.

Victory and defeat is added similar to scenarios.
Then you click and drag from the selected scenario outcome to the victory/defeat branch.
(Screenshot is work-in-progress so dates etc is not correct yet.)

Erik, thanks for the response.
Note that the tab titles are gone and that there are no Blocks to assign Minor Victory and Major Victory outcomes. There are only three blocks to select for outcomes and the tab titles are gone. But just for that scenario (actually there is another down below with the same issue). All the other scenarios have 5 blocks across the top and the tab titles in the tab blocks.
I have tried to add new blocks but am having no joy as yet.
This is getting crazy, because when I moved the white box to the first scenario, it no longer saves. Klik on the save button, nothing happens, it won't save over the old file.
Back to the drawing board...
No need for me to send you anything until I start getting a handle on this mess. I think there is a gremlin in my campaign editor.

Anyone -- what would prevent the campaign editor from allowing you to save over a file -- in other words, re-save a file after you made changes in it?
I have had this error when I 1) Added Factions and 2) moved the starting scenario box to another scenario.

Thanks again

I have had the odd issue with not being able to save a campaign.
Both after starting a new one from the editor and using an official campaign as a template.
Also the specialisation date field is either removed (label is still there) or it doesn't matter if it is present or not.
So there are some bugs left.

Erik, all:

I have been working on this issue -- got around it but have not figured out the cause.

The remedy, however, is to delete the offending lines and rebuild the Settings/Branch tab accordingly.

Fixes it just fine but you have to retest several times to make sure.
