SOLUTION: Download .exe from here:

"invalid control file" for uninstall

Cannot download for update - error trying to open ftp file.

Unable to continue multiplayer

Update

Reinstalled - cannot update

I have again tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still cannot update the game.
Even disabling firewall doesn't help.
Help!
