Lusitanian Depravity

Post by Blathergut »

Not an easy start! Like the Spanish need any more hits to loyalty!

As others have asked, please add in a 'leader assassination' choice!! 8) (Or at least have him send out invites! )

It does, however, definitely change the start of your game! It maybe would be nice if there was some sort of counter-balance.

Oh, I know that. I just found it humourous that he was the starting leader. Nowhere to go but up from him! :D

Depraved leaders could be rather fun. Rome had plenty of them as one example. I agree an assassination/coup feature would be a wonderful addition even if your benevolent and wise ruler could be replaced with be depraved and genocidal maniac. A much greater likelihood when your civilization becomes decadent. That said your depraved, genocidal maniac could be a military genius (even better if rulers can be allowed into the command pool) or he could be a genius at administration or trade. He just likes his orgies and kills a lot of people! :D

if you get your state to Decadent, you get some spectacular rulers with traits that would have embarrased Caligula. They also die more often - and in entertaining ways

How I cheered when my totally imbecilic leader of the Bactrians was killed aged 35 after a mob(understandably) beat both him and him bodyguard to death in the square of the Capital city :D

Genuine event.

I am totally opposed to players being able to assassinate or remove incompetents by choice. Nations have all had their share of idiots ( and some still do !) It is how you mitigate that.

I agree. Players should not be able to manipulate heir ruler or generals just because they don't like the characteristics. That's just how things are.

But depraved leaders should be more likely to be removed by coups, assassination, mobs etc. just like real life.
