Create a vassal?

Correct me if I am wrong. It seems that you win the battle, the the region is conquered. Is it viable to create a vassal for your state? I mean, spare part of your conquered regions to create one.

No you cannot create vassals out of conquered regions.

I posted in another thread but I'd like to see diplomacy, specifically peace, mechanics expanded. It's really dumb having to defend yourself constantly from a war happy AI and you're essentially forced to annex at least some of their territory to make peace, even if you don't want the territory. Would be nice to have an option to give back the land and make them pay indemnities or create a vassal. Otherwise, the AI is basically forcing you to blob or you have to just keep massive armies posted on all of your borders at all times and can't use them to pursue wars you actually want to.

Just wanted to second this, both the diplomacy in general and the ability to take land to force peace and then either release a vassal buffer nation or return it to the owner with some terms. Having a tough time now trying to decide whether its better to keep an army roving up and down my border and let border provinces be harassed or invade to force peace but suffer the decadence hit from expansion.
