Installation allowed on two computers?

Post by PoorOldSpike »

I've got OOB and all DLC installed on my old computer, but I've just bought a new computer and want to install it on that one.
Am I allowed to, or can it only be installed on one computer?
Same question applies to any other games.

I have OOB and DLC on two laptops now. Download version, not Steam.

You can play the same Steam games on different computers.

Thanks guys, and to clarify, I didn't get OOB from Steam, I downloaded the free base game and all the DLC's from the Matrix/Slith site and got a bunch of licence keys with it.
I just bought a new PC today so shall I simply download the free base game and all the DLC's from Matrix/Slith onto it, and use the keys when prompted?

YES!

PS: I have stored all the games and patches on an external hard drive (no need to download each time).

Thanks, and incidentally I've gone off Steam a bit over the past few months. I've bought games from them in the past but they often take literally hours to download, for example I bought X-Plane flight sim recently and it took 11 hours to d/l, sheesh!
Also, Steam have got the unspeakable habit of updating our games whether we want the bloody update or not!
There's nothing more infuriating than to sit down to play a Steam game, only to get a message onscreen saying something like "Updating. Game will be ready to play in 2 hours".
There seems to be no way to cancel the update, so you have to sit twiddling your thumbs til its finished.
In other words buyers are at the mercy of "big brother Steam" at all times so from now on I'm going to avoid buying from them if at all possible..:)

I dislike Steam as well for much the same reason.
I couldn't get the Red Star beta to work either, and it is Steam-only.

I play Red Star Beta on 2 different computers with Steam: a desktop computer when I’m at home and a laptop when I’m away.
Steam requires a little effort at the beginning to understand how it works.

The beta also requires that you get a key that Steam does not state is 'invalid' :D
