I've played this game for around an hour or two and I've enjoyed it a bit, but there is a lot I don't understand.
For one, and probably the most important, diplomacy, other than the trait, how do I improve my odds of a cooperation or anything happening?
Secondly combat, even when I have armies that have a higher combat stat or more units, there are times where I either get a draw, or lose everything. It might be my army composition, but It might also be the units Britain (I can't remember the name exactly, I'll probably play Aedui because of a mod I love has them as a faction) as they don't seem to be good.
Lastly, territories or management in general, some provinces grow really slowly, and when I try to build AG buildings to help them grow, it takes many turns before they're finished, what exactly am I missing?
Other than that I haven't gotten too far to know how to do trade or anything.

Hi
ok seriously suggest a quick skim over section 3 and 17-19 of the manual. Skip the details for now but they should give you some feeling for how it all slots together
More specifically:
1) raise relations, best route is by sending money, but sometimes you can get a low odds chance of a co-op agreement. if you have overlapping objectives (which you do as a Gallic faction) then this can be hard to overcome. But look at the diplo tooltip, it'll give you some idea how much of the problem you can overcome
2) yes army balance. Raw CP is misleading as a badly balanced army can get beat. You may at start have a few special units you can't replace - love and cherish these. More generally you can often offset being a bit weaker by having lots of skirmishers ... lots. They inflict fatigue and that can take 1-3 off your opponent's melee value. Linked with this, watch some battles using the Empires' detailed screen .. you'll learn a lot about what works and what doesn't this way
3) not much, if you have a poor tribal state with low pop this is inevitable, have a poke around section 17.2 for some hints.
4) don't worry too much about trade, its automatic but should influence your building decisions - 17.1.6 will give you some hints

Thanks a lot, I will look through the manual, I should've done that in the first place, but I'm stubborn about learning by myself, or by getting advice onlineloki100 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 6:15 pm Hi

If you're playing the Aedui, there are a lot of forest/hill regions nearby. These are very hard to attack and heavy infantry is bad at fighting there. Also, bring generals with 1 or preferably 2 and avoid attacking enemies with a 2 general.

Can you see the little people?
They all look different. Some are slaves, some are citizens. Some might be of your ethnicity, others not.
Put the slaves to work in building things (second row down) or in the farms and stuff (top row).
Put your citizens in the purple row (fourth down) to generate culture, or the yellow row (third) to generate money.
To make your region grow more quickly, stick them all in the top row (green).
See if you have sufficient regions (50% or more) in the same area to generate a Province, and then click the Create Province button (+) that appears.)
In the battles, it is useful to have 8 tough guys, like heavy infantry, with 8 skirmirshers (light horse) for support. Most battles, the frontage for fighting is 8 units or less.
