Better FoG2 integration

Post by jhornborg »

So far, FoG:E seems like a pretty good empire-building game with the potential to become better. Meanwhile, FoG2 is a brilliant battle game that feels more historically authentic than Total War battles. Why can't people who own both games be allowed to play FoG2 battles within FoG:E? It can't be that hard to program. Also, FoG2 needs real-time multiplayer capability instead of PBEM, so MP campaign battles can be played in FoG2 in an hour. Watching the battles autoresolve is not satisfying, and in some ways is even more frustrating than EU or AJE battles, because there's an illusion of control but no actual control.

answers very simple, there 2 different games and from 2 different developers plain and simple, that's not to say it won't get better, or be altered totally at a late date, as i have no idea on that part, but the basics are that simple, it's from different developers who while already working together, and maybe for other reasons, of which i don't know either, so can't answer for them

But if a customer owns both games, then neither company loses any money, they would just make the combo package more appealing by integrating them. People who don't own FoG2 would have the option disabled. Here they have a potentially synergistic relationship that's being sabotaged by imaginary red tape.
