Militia kick everything out of the 2nd line... everything... Those skirmishers, or lightcav +2 support? gone. archers +3 support? gone. Siege weapons +4 support? gone (which seeing as you probably only get them in a city with a ton militia is kinda funny). Not to mention the massive firepower decrees in range combat.

Yeah their setup is weird sometimes, though I see them mostly in 3rd line usually.shockk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 1:01 pm Militia kick everything out of the 2nd line... everything... And if you have walls just fight outside of the city they won't join (it's kinda weird as well but at least they don't screw up the army setup...)

There are definitely a few things with battle deployment that could use fixing.
I've also seen my light horse (6 attack, 1 damage, 2 support) displace archers (8 attack, 2 max damage, 3 support) in the center of my support line, resulting in my crucial center troops (that face the enemy elites) having less support and stamina advantage over the enemy during a tough duel. As with other things, I'd much rather have that type of setup be a - choice - with some sort of template selection process that you use during your turn, than have the unclear frontage value rules result in an undesirable outcome.

The actions of garrisons are super weird. As far as I can tell they won't help you break a siege, and they mess up battles lines in defense. I also agree about the support stuff. Units don't line up optimally at all, even with 2-2 generals. I could see an argument about that where bad generals have inferior line setups but that doesn't appear to be the reason.
