One Question Regarding the Game's Multiplayer

So the Field of Glory 2 that I have is the GOG version, and I'm wondering whether the challenges in the multiplayer are a combination from the whole player base of this game (all the players from Steam, GOG, and Slitherine get to play with one another) or does the multiplayer merely confine the players within the version of Field of Glory 2 they bought the game from (So Steam players can only play against other Steam players, GOG players against other GOG players, and so on)?

There is one server for all platforms and they can all play each other.

(Note, however, that there is a separate beta server for beta versions)
