FOG2 Conversion Casualties

Post by sage3 »

I've noticed when playing battles in FOG2 that the distribution of post battle casualties for the loser seems really small. It's almost always between 50 and 55%. Shouldn't this vary more and have more to do with force composition in general? For example, if the winner has a better ratio of light cavalry that might lead to more casualties on the part of the loser.

The figures displayed at the end iof FOG2 battles include extra casualties calculated by the system to account for pursuit, desertions etc.

However those figures do not apply to Empires battles. The data sent back to Empires includes only the actual battle casualties, and then Empires calculates the results of the pursuit using its own system.

Hence, if you are playing Empires battles using FOG2, you should ignore the figures in the FOG2 end battle report and look at the report in Empires after importing the result.

I agree that the current system is confusing, and we will look at not showing the FOG2 report for Empires battles in a future update.

Oh got it. I do really like the FOG2 casualty screen to know just how many of the barbarian horde I put to the sword, but perhaps the additional casualties could not be calculated for Empires battles.

FoG2 results in FoG:E seems to give very small casualties, as a battle is won when 40% to 60% of the enemy is routed, which often means 15-20% casualties... The same battle played in FoG:E usually gives 2 or 3x times more, as units are fully destroyed.

Hmmm... now that you mention it, I've noticed this as well.
