Is it possible to deploy a capture point --

Post by conboy »

Is it possible to deploy a capture point using a trigger? For example, in mid-scenario, you want to stop your units from attacking and assemble at a certain point marked by a capture point that wasn't displayed previously?
I'm at a loss -- seems like it would be a fairly common request/command but I don't see it.
thanks!

I'm waiting on experts for this one, conboy, but no, I don't think there is any Effect for a Trigger to place/activate a capture point. A compromise might be necessary; maybe put the capture point flag on the map (else the place name will not show) and call it "Rally Point." Chances are the player will not even notice it, especially if it's in the fog of war, until you reveal it (and maybe keep it revealed: use "-1" frequency) and call attention to it with an Event Popup message with a focus on that hex.

Bru888,
I didn't think so but thanks for confirming it. You saved me a long wild goose chase.
I like the compromise -- it'll do in a pinch.
Thanks again!

My pleasure. Actually, the game player will see the place name anyway even in fog of war, so you may want to give the hex a more general, run-of-the-mill name. Of course, revealing the hex to the player will highlight it like a spotlight is shining on it if it is still in fog of war, so the effect will stand out that way.
