The situation was shown in the attachment.
My archer was in the forest, 2 open-tiles away from the target, and aimed in a perfect diagonal line.
But the rule said "No line of sight".
Even replacing the forest tiles with allied or enemy units, it should still be in perfect line of sight.
No line of sight at forest edge

Re: No line of sight at forest edge
A unit of archers does not all shoot out of the mid-point of the unit - which is in fact the only part that has clear line of sight. Most of the archers in the unit would not be able to shoot at that target without their arrows passing through trees. It is not the same situation as shooting out of the edge of a wood with all of the front rank archers lined up with the wood edge.

What accurately bothered me is that the forest didn't act the same as units in line of sight test.rbodleyscott wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 5:25 pm A unit of archers does not all shoot out of the mid-point of the unit - which is in fact the only part that has clear line of sight. I think they should be consistant - forest tile, expect the one the shooters stand on, act like tiles with a unit in in line of sight test.
How do you think?

Re: No line of sight at forest edge
The engine handles line of sight with respect to terrain objects, blocking by friendly units is handled in scripts. Byzantine Games does not have access to the engine source code, so cannot analyse it to make them work exactly the same. If this was a major issue, we would probably be able to fix it, but we do not see it as a major issue.Blastom1016 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:43 amWhat accurately bothered me is that the forest didn't act the same as units in line of sight test.rbodleyscott wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 5:25 pm A unit of archers does not all shoot out of the mid-point of the unit - which is in fact the only part that has clear line of sight. Re: No line of sight at forest edge
I have always assumed that the forest fills up the whole tile (and maybe spills out beyond the tile slightly), while a unit occupies only part of the tile.
Therefore in the example in the first post, there is a very small gap between the two forest tiles, whereas if they had been two units instead there would be a much bigger gap.
