yes, I wondered why the spots as well! However, I think from a distance, it gives the banner as a whole a more "fabric" look, at least it does where the spot is close to the background colour.

I have a BG of the Eureka Amulgvars and they are excellent and will mix in with essex and Touller so even more poses to use.

With the beards and vest however. All of my Amulgvars end up looking like BeeGee goat herders.

The Spot question....My style of painting, black base coat, one base colour and one much lighter colour as a "High Light", Its a fast technique, and I think it look good then the minis are on the gaming table.

During this weekend i have painted som more Almughuavars, can´t get enough of them....

I painted these i a different cap colour to separate them, protected/unprotected.

And here is a picture of all my Almughuavars, Commander, 56 bases and 8 bases of Skrimishers

Last weekend I participated with my Catalan Company Army in a FoG tournament at SlemCon here in Stockholm.

I used a fairly smal army, only 10 battle groups.

4 x Troop Commanders
1 x 8 LF Crossbowmen
1 x 8 LF Almughavars Skrimishers
2 x 4 LH Turks
4 x 8 MF Almugavars, Offensive Spears
1 x 6 Cavalls Alforats
1 x 4 Cavalls Armats
