Ancient British - my 600 points

Post by Keith »

Here is my latest 600 points list for fighting on a 4x3ft table.

CinC TC x1
Generals TCx3
Elite Warriors MFx8
Warriors MFx8
Warriors MFx8
Warriors MFx8
Light Chariots Lchx4
Light Chariots Lchx4
Light Horse LHx4
Slingers LFx8
Slingers LFx6

The more advice I get about the list I'm taking less and less warriors and more slingers , light horse and chariots.
Is that what you other loyal Ancient Britons are finding ?

At 600AP do you really need 4 TCs? I'd say drop one and get some LF Javelin or upgrade a general to an FC for flank marches.

I probably don't need all 4 TC's , but they will be handy.

Can the CinC be a TC and one of the sub generals be a FC ?

Yes.

I think you will usually find all BGs that get into close combat will need a commander in the front line (except the elite).

If you drop a commander you should also look at dropping a BG of chariots, increasing the other one to 6 bases and increasing the two warrior groups to 10 each, so you don't end up with one BG without a commander. But if I were you I would experiment with different combinations.

Thanks
I made a typo ,I editied my original post as I have 3 units of 8 warriors not 2 :)
There is a min' of 24 warriors so I have taken 3 BG's of 8.

I think I need the 4 TC's as you say all the BG's that get into a fight should have one , especially the warriors , and hopefully in terrain.
One TC in each chariot unit as well will be handy , or at least double moving the slingers into a favourable postion etc
