How old in light years?
magobarca, if what I understand is correct, the relativistic effect gets progressively larger as you approach the speed of light (1C). At light speed, the sub-atomic particles which also move at 1C will take all of their energy just to keep up, instead performing of their "normal" motions, causing time to effectively stop. In theory, if it is possible to exceed the speed of light, that should cause a reversal in elapsed time. So, if you are in fact travelling at light speed, then you are infinitely old, yet haven't aged at all.
Supposedly, and there isn't supposed to be any physical distortion of the object traveling at light speed, just the universe as percieved by the object. Blue shift to the fore and red shift begind, or is it the other way around, concerning the 'outside' Universe relative to the object or observer cruising along at light speed?? Don't know if that is quite true or as true as we can get at this stage of the game concernig the sub-atomic particles, but it would make sense if not any aging at all occurred. However, there just may be some time lapse and aging at that speed as an experiment showed using cesium 'clocks' located in a high altitude high speed jet and on Earth's surface.
Yse, in theory, if something or someone could travel at the speed of light then time would reverse, but an unlikely event as are others etc.
Nect time I zip along at light speed I will remember to take some more accurate measurements etc., and a pencil and pad of paper for notes. I'll bring a rock or something along for an additional observer/ participant.
Might need quite a panoply or panalopy of gadgets for all this, come to think of it.
