Diagonal Flank Breach Tactics?

Post by Blastom1016 »

New guy here :D
I just found a pretty weird tactics to breach the enemy flank, which works in game, but quite counter intuition in realistic situations.
When I has more cohorts on one flank, I could charge diagonally in the first turn, to change the facing of enemy cohorts.
On the next turn, the enemy flank cohort would expose it to a flank charge.

This can do fast work on flanking maneuver, especially against superior setup like pikes or other high-cost front lines. Though I wonder if this action was intended or just some kind exploit?

The flank attack shown in your diagram will not work because the game will not let you charge between the other two units that are in close combat.
