Swordsmen and Enclosures

Post by Geffalrus »

Noticed something new and weird to me during a rather unsuccessful game as Palmyra. While reviewing the combat logs, I noticed that one of my Legions was giving a resounding kicking to an enemy Legion. The odds were solidly in my favor despite the fact that both were equal and my only advantage was an obstacle. I checked the detailed report, and Obstacle only gave +25, which is nice, but not enough to really shift things too heavily. But the total POA advantage was +75, actually. And apparently that was because my enemy's Swordsman trait only gave +50, while mine gave +100. My understanding was that both should have +100, right?

From the Melee POA Table on page 82 in the manual:
Foot Swordsmen: + 50 vs foot who are steady and offensive spearmen, defensive spearmen or defending an obstacle
