Is the byzantine army still using this flag?

No,I don't use any mods,this will only happened when you 're facing the late roman or byzantine army as enemy.You can try to play the sassanid army facing the post 284ad roman army or play the islamic arabs facing the byzantines.

Just to correct you slightly there Dux, I am certain that a late Roman enemy army will only have green flags if the player also has a Roman army. The script that determines that the Romans always use Red flags (except when both sides are Roman) just depends upon the SideID, not the date of the army.

The Byzantines are not covered by this rule, and so will have green banners regardless of the players army.
