Unable to get into Multiplayer

I press Multiplayer and get to the signing in screen, press the V button and then there is a millisecond flash of an error message that mentions something about servers, then I am taken to the original launch screen (with 'Play Game' -'Game manual' and 'Patch Notes' buttons etc).

I have tried reinstalling the game and get the same error.

Do you mean back to the launcher (e.g. out of the fullscreen game and back to the smaller windowed launcher)? That sounds like something it shutting down the game - do you have any antivirus or firewall software running which may be misinterpreting the login information as hostile?

Yes, the smaller launcher window. I only have Windows Defender running. I closed the firewall and tried the game again but no luck.

You were right Pip. I switched the firewall off, turned the PC off and on again , tried the game again and it worked. Switched the firewall back on - and the game still works!
