Epic Battles - Battle of Heraclea 280 BC v4

Post by julianbarker »

Have installed this.

As this new version appears alongside the old version in the list and the name and description have not changed, how do I know which one will crash and which one won't?

It appears the answer is to try and delete one and then the version number pops up.

The best bet is to delete the old scenario before downloading the new one.

Alternatively, if you know the location of the folder where the scenarios are downloaded to, ie My Documents\My Games\FieldofGlory2\CAMPAIGNS, delete the old folder (called HERACLEA_SMALLV3). The new scenario is in a folder called HERACLEA_SMALLV4.

When a new version pops up on screen on loading the game there is no way of knowing from the UI as presented if there is a previous version to delete.

It would be very useful if there was a note to delete old versions of the scenario, but I don't know if something like that is possible, maybe Richard can comment.

In the Community Content thread Richard could highlight the need to delete old versions, but then how many people would read that? Far better to have a note on the Download Community content screen, if that is possible.

What actually needs to be done is for the IDS_CAMPAIGN_NAME in new versions to be changed to include the version number. Then it would be possible to distinguish the two versions in the Epic Battles (or Campaigns) listbox and use the in-game option to delete the old version.

Of course! I already do that with the TT Mod, I don't understand why I did not think of that for scenarios. I think I must have early onset of Alzheimer's or something!
