Too late to change map size?

Post by PoorOldSpike »

I've just created an awesome scenario but after a few playthroughs I think I've made the map a bit too big.
Back in the editor I can't seem to find an option to shrink it a bit, or must I scrap the scen and start building the whole caboodle all over again? (sniffle)
PS- can I just toss another question into the playpen for good measure?-
during games when I hit the F9 screenshot hotkey, where are the shots saved to? I can't seem to find them in the docs or game files anywhere.

AFAI remember there are console commands for cropping maps. Did you already try consulting Bruce's editor manuals about this?

Actually, I do have some materials on this topic which I don't think I included in the manual:

Changing the Scenario Map Size

Map Resizing Photo Strip

Also, the screenshots in my setup go here: C:\Users\Bruce\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2\Screenshots (Tip: Each screenshot is saved in both JPG and PNG formats. Unless there is a good reason for using the PNG version, go with JPG instead. The image quality is more or less the same but JPG files are much smaller than PNG.)

If you have already created location names in the old map these will be missing in the new map/cropped scenario after you saved/reloaded cropped scenario.
Same goes for scenario briefing, objectives and probably more.

But there's hope :D

The crop process creates a new _crop folder under scenarios.
Copy the text_english file from this folder to the folder you saved to after cropping.
The old info should be preserved and the location names linked to the correct hexes.
