Bright Blue Textures

Post by Cunningcairn »

Hi

I once again have bright blue units. This happened before way back when using the TT mod. This time it is in the FDL with no mod being used. There are now a number of units affected both foot and cavalry. I'm playing Ulysisgrunt using Jewish 167 - 111BC and I'm using Hannibal in Africa. I haven't updated or added any mods for a long time so weird that it has suddenly appeared.

Cheers

As previously stated, it means that you are missing some textures. If the other player was playing the first turn of the battle, then if he has added additional textures on his machine, the game setup will automatically (randomly) make use of them. When it comes to your turn, the game will try to use the same textures, but as they aren't there the units get no textures, which is what the bright blue colour means.

So the problem is probably that your opponent has modded his build by adding extra textures. The alternative is that your own build has become corrupted, but I think it is more likely your opponent's build that is at fault.

Thanks Richard. I doubt it is mine as it hasn't happened since the first instance nor after this game against Danny. I posted the challenge and didn't use any mod. The game is going on without any issues besides luminous troops. Anyway I think they are intimidating Danny's troops :D

Did you have the first (Deployment) turn, or did you set it for Danny to have the first turn?

If you Deployed first, then the problem is with your build, and not Danny's.

In which case it is likely to be Danny's build. Let's hope he sees the PM and responds.

Well it's a mystery then.

My best advice to Martin is
a) If on STEAM validate the game files. (Right click on game in Steam library, click on Properties, Click on the Local Files tab, click on Verify Integrity of Game files.)
b) If using Matrix/Slitherine version, uninstall the game and re-install it.
