Two wins for harveylh (Romans) this week has seen him move to the top of Division A but four players are still to post a result so positions do not mean too much at the moment. It has been busier in Division B where Hendricus (Romans) has completed his fixtures and set a reasonable target of 24 points to beat. devoncop (Hannibal in Africa) is 8 points behind but still has 3 matches to play while IMC (Jewish), SpeedyCM (Greeks) and XLegione (Galatians) have all made promising starts and may be able to develop a challenge for the promotion places. Najanaja (Hannibal in Italy) secured his third win to close the gap on deve (Ptolemaics) to 5 points in Division C with both cromlechi (Seleucids) and SLancaster (Macedonians) just 3 points further back after both players have started with 2 wins from 3 matches. The results have been coming in from Division B at a frantic pace this week. sunnyboy (Spanish) has extended his winning run to 5 matches and his closest challenger is Karvon (Graeco-Bactrians) who is unbeaten in 3 starts. Yaitz331 (Jewish) has stopped playing and has been replaced by blobka (army to be advised).

sunnyboy (Germanic/Gothic Horse Tribes 260-476 AD) beat Morkin The Free (Ptolemaic 55 – 30 BC), 64-47
A bloody affair fought in the shadows of a volcano that dominated one flank of the battlefield. The Germanic Horseman trailed in the contest for the first 22 turns and was effectively hanging on for a draw. A desperate effort late in the game to force victory by the Ptolemaic forces failed and the Germanic horse tribes were able to exploit the situation for a last turn victory. Another great game Morkin!

Division A has come to life this week and harveylh (Jewish Revolt) is the early front runner with 3 wins from 4 matches. He is being chased by Breogan (Sertorius) and MikeC_81 (Arab City) who both have 2 wins from 3 matches and pantherboy (Bretons) has also started with a win. youngr (Jewish Revolt) has set a formidable target in Division B with 7 wins from 8 matches. He still has a match to complete against Trogilus (Romans) when he returns to the competition in mid-March. Can anyone else in the division put together a winning run to deprive him of promotion to Division A? It is very slow in Division C but there were wins for the top two, greekiraklis (Byzantines) and jjaquemond (Kingdom of Soissons). On the other hand, the players in Division D have near completed half their matches! sunnyboy (Germanic Horse Tribes) extended his winning run to 7 matches with a narrow win against his closest challenger, MorkinTheFree (Ptolemaics). It is hard to see anyone being able to catch him now.

Cunningcairn (Lombards) has taken an early lead in Division A with 2 wins from 3 starts while GDod (Hepthalites), NikiforosFokas (Romano-British) and pantherboy (Bretons) have all won their opening matches. Division B is half finished already after just 2 weeks! youngr (Romano-British) is the leader in the clubhouse with 7 wins from his 9 matches. melm (Sassanids) is the main challenger at the moment with 4 straight wins and DzonVejn (Arab City) is third with 4 wins from 6 starts. His closest challenger is markwatson360 (Lydians) who has 2 wins from 4 matches. ianiow (Egyptians), Nijis (Achaemenid Persians) and stockwellpete (Carthaginians) have all started off with a win. In Division B, Cunningcairn (Lydians) has already completed his fixtures and has set a modest target of 24 points. XLegione (Phoenicians) is well-placed to overhaul that total having started off with 5 straight wins. Most remarkable event in the battle was a prolonged fight in the woods. 4-5 units on each side, mix of warbands, cav and skirmishers. A couple of units on both side fragmented early on.
