Our match in the Themed Event

Hello jjaquemond,
I had great difficulty after trying to send my last turn to you. It refused to send it three times, then offered me the option of discarding my turn and doing it again. I don't think it is fair for me to do that in a tournament match so I tried to surrender the match. Again the turn was not sent, so I crashed the game deliberately using control-alt-delete. I then tried to get back into FOG to see what had happened, but was told that my details were not recognised and that I was to contact Slitherine. I then shut down my computer completely and left it for 5 minutes. I was then able to get back into FOG multiplayer and the screen shows that a turn has been sent to you. I have no idea whether you have my original turn, or whether you have my surrender.
If you have my original turn then we can continue if you are happy to. But, of course, you are quite within your rights to claim the match now as the problem was at my end. if, on the other hand, you have my surrender then the match is yours. It is a shame because although my army was falling apart, I still may have been able to kill Clovis and win because my cavalry had started to break through your lines.
Sorry about all this,

Re: Is it just me?
The server was down for a bit earlier today. This will happen from time to time. If after several failed attempts to send the turn, the game offers you the choice of abandoning the turn, that is hardly your fault, and you should accept it. In no way is that cheating.
Also, if the game can't send your turn (because the server is down), it can't send your surrender either, so there really isn't any point in attempting to Concede in these circumstances.
It does happen sometimes (presumably due to some synchronisation issue) that the game says it has failed to send the turn, but in fact it has done so successfully. That is what has happened when it shows it is the opponent's turn. We are looking into whether it is possible to correct this.

OK. Thanks Richard. Something did go through. I will just wait and see whether my original turn made it or if it was my surrender.rbodleyscott wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 1:12 pm The server was down for a bit earlier today. Re: Is it just me?
As I mentioned elsewhere the next update will greatly simplify MP send retries, and remove the scope for player error in dealing with them, and the possibility of the game being left in strange states. The next thing is for us to see if we can fix the issue of the turn being sent successfully, but the game thinking it hasn't.stockwellpete wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 1:22 pmOK. Thanks Richard.
