3. the fact that Soviets used propaganda to fool their nation is one thing (it was used for its own citizens and for subordinate countries, nobody cared about it in the west), but the fact that American soldiers complained about everything is a different matter
A serious question. Do you think that there is no propaganda in the USA and generally in the West? Do you claim that there is absolute freedom of speech, and media (especially mainstream) are honest, transparent and not influenced by current state affairs and their agenda? Do you think that CNN and BBC are (mostly) honest, and RT or CCTV are propaganda by definition? Do you think that Western politicians work for the best of their peoples and Eastern leaders are by definition autocrats at best, dictators in most cases, working only to make themselves rich, corrupt to the bone?
I thought we were talking about tanks, but if you want to talk about politics it's ok
1. I think that propaganda in a democratic country is something different, and something different in a totalitarian system, there is no symmetry here
2. I noticed that you are transferring our discussions to modern times, when I only talk about World War II
3. Although modern Russia is not a democratic country, I think that it can't be compared to the USSR in Stalin's time, it would be unfair
4. I think that politicians in all countries, regardless of the political system, are corrupt, but I think that they are more corrupt in undemocratic countries, because power which isn't subject to any control corrupts people even more,
5. I think that some dictators sometimes have the will to do something for their citizens, some have even introduced some real reforms, but the aim of these actions is always to strengthen or maintain power
6. I think that there is CNN station in USA, but Fox News too...
