Re: Tournament Diary and News . . .
I have posted up all the tournament threads this morning. I will open these before I turn in on Thursday evening so that players from Japan, Australia and New Zealand can start promptly if they want to. Please do not start your matches until February 1st so that everyone has the same amount of time to complete their matches.

Re: We still have some vacancies in Early Middle Ages and Biblical . . .
I will be entering Division A with the carthaginian 550-411 BC army so XLegione will move down to Division B and cromlechi will switch to Division C.

Re: We still have some vacancies in Early Middle Ages and Biblical . . .
Is that going to change the Army allocations?

Army allocations for Biblical
Please note that although the divisions may be subject to change in the next few days, the allocation of armies will not be. Players will keep the armies indicated here if they are moved down a division, even if it means there are two armies from the same nation in one or two of the divisions in this section.

Any questions?
We have a lot of new players this time so there are bound to be some questions about how everything works. If you have such a question please post them in this thread. I have had a couple of questions by PM that I will post below.

Re: Any questions?
Question - Can you use the TT mod 1.5.3 in the tournament (Early Middle Ages)? I believe the other guy has to have it as well, but not sure if this is OK?
Answer - You will not need the TTmod in the Early Middle Ages section, so just stick to the standard game for those matches. The TTmod is being used in the Biblical section, however.

Re: Any questions?
Question - When do we learn who our first match is against?
Answer - That will be up to you. Apart from in the Themed Event, there is no formal fixture list in the FOG2DL. All you are required to do is to complete all nine matches in each section that you have entered by the end of the tournament on April 14th. On Friday I will open up the "Arrange your matches here" thread for each section and, if you wait a few hours, you will see exactly how the regular players go about things. Some issue individual challenges, while others issue three or four at a time. Here is an example from last season where the game designer, rbodleyscott, has issued some challenges . . .

Division B
My remaining challenges:
Lysimachid vs
markwatson360 Roman 199-106 BC
rexhurley Carthaginian (Hannibal in Italy) 216-203 BC
pw: pimlico
Richard would have set these matches up in the multi-player lobby and password protected (pimlico) them as well. I am not sure if Richard did on this occasion but it is very good practice to also send a PM to your opponent as well. Just cut and paste the challenge into a PM and send it. Then, once your opponent has received the challenge, the match should start within a day or so. Sometimes there is a short delay. If, and it doesn't happen that often, a week passes without a response from an opponent then contact me in the first instance and I will send a search party out.

Re: Tournament Diary and News . . .
Just one place left in Early Middle Ages now and two in Biblical. I have sent out the individual "Welcome to the FOG2DL" messages by PM to everyone now and over half of them have been picked up already. I just need to send a group PM to all the new players to indicate the basic things they need to do to help the tournament run smoothly. I will probably do that today. I have drawn up the fixture list for the group stage of the Themed Event and I will post that on Thursday. The last job will be to fill in all the tables and charts with all your names. Then everything is done.

Re: We still have some vacancies in Early Middle Ages and Biblical . . .
We have had an enquiry from the main forum from a player called desertedfox, so I am reserving one place in Early Middle Ages and Biblical for him until I can ascertain exactly which sections he is interested in.

Re: Tournament Diary and News . . .
Just one day to go now before we start. Just 11 players are still to open their "Welcome" PM and I expect most of them will have done so by the end of the weekend. I will open the threads up this evening just before I go to bed. We still have one place available in Biblical Division B.

Re: Tournament Diary and News . . .
I have had a few enquiries from players about the e-mail alert system on this forum. Apparently you can still get these alerts if a move is made in one of your multi-player matches, but the service has been withdrawn with regards to alerts being sent if a player receives a PM. See here . . .

May I get on C or D reserve list in all events since I am too late for the events? Thanks, Okie
