22C here in San Diego, but it's only 1100 now, and and we're expecting a high of 24C. Humidity at a comfortable 25%, sun is shining, beautiful blue sky from horizon to horizon with not a cloud in sight.

More of the same expected tomorrow.

Yes, winter is terrible, just awful.

We are also suffering terribly here in southwest Florida - currently 23°C with 68% humidity and a light overcast. It does make for a nice break for the usual incessant sunshine, though.

Well it's another 'warm' +1 C or so before wind chill here in the Ontario. It's supposed to drop to -14 C or so mid week.

Of course we only get a few feet of snow per year so the London shock is nothing compared to here. I got an email from a Canadian fiend who is in the UK earlier today - shall we say he was less than impressed with London's inability to handle a light coating of snow.

IMO It's just an excuse to get off work. Next there will be complaints about it being the 'wrong type of snow' or there are 'leaves on the track' as excuses not to work.... oh hold on they have already been used in the UK.

Now what you need is a good few cm's (an inch or so) of freezing rain or a good thundersnow. Now that's fun weather.

Talk about can't handle it - Southern Californians are, in good weather, some of the most skillful freeway drivers in the world. But as soon as 3 drops of rain hit the windshield, they'll veer across 4 lanes of traffic to ram the nearest cement truck

I just visited some friends in Southern California.

They were talking about the same thing. When they were taking me to the airport for me to come home to sunny Ohio.. The traffic was horrid. They wanted me to move out there.. Hell no!

Besides their are more Fog players around here.

In London 6" is about 12x as much snow as we ever get all year. I bet Canade and WA would struggle with 720" in a night...!

It's looked like that (or worse) outside my Toronto window for two months....
Yesterday I was on my roof hacking some ice off my deck-canopy. It was 2-5 inches thick. The night before, an icicle fell off the roof and woke me and the dog. I found it in a snow bank on my deck, the biggest piece was 3 feet long and maybe 30-40lbs.
Lovely day though, at +2C with sunshine.

Toronto is usually treated gently in the winter, but this year it started early and hasn't let up. Many of the side streets are reduced to 1 lane with snow banks. The city is having a hard time keeping up -- never good in a crisis.

Sadly the groundhog told us today we have another 6 more weeks to go.

And in Melbourne, Oz some snow would be heaven. Most of last week was 40 degrees + and far too hot to paint figures. Only the Spanish tennis players seemed happy!

Also recovering last week from Cancon. The first FOG event with about 48 players was excellent and will only get better.

Here at Lake Tahoe, we've had just one significant storm all winter. The snowpack is at 50% of normal and there's nothing coming in the forseable future. Please send all you bad weather here.

I'm just glad that we got the snow now and that it should be gone by the time we get to Burton. For some reason whenever I have been to Usk in January the weather is nice and when I go to Burton in February it more often than not snows ....

Most politicians are at POA -- , its that trustworthyness problem they have, along with most lawyers and estate agents

Whoa, when the forecasts here are wrong, they're really wrong.

Monday when we started this thread, our forecast was for clouds and scattered showers Wednesday.

Now Wednesday is here, another beautiful sunny day, blue from horizon to horizon, not a cloud in sight, and 23-24C outside at 0900 hours.

If this is global warming, I can live with it...

I was laughing yesterday. Al Jazeera English had a video report on California's economic woes. We are the state hardest hit at the moment, with unemployment over 10% by official figures, and the reality nearer 15%. Anyhow, somebody obviously from elsewhere had posted that "Cali today is like something from a Mad Max movie"

Right, right, and any day now we'll fall into the sea.

Hmm, that reminds me, I've got a bottle of Pinot Grigio del Veneto in the frig...
