Sealion 45

Post by codman »

Final scenario for the 45 West DLC and suggestions would be welcome. Currently seized the southeastern corner of the island and the the eastern coast as well. The naval battle in the channel is going poorly and every 4 or 5 turns brings a fresh wave of allied aircraft. Surprised at the damage a P-47 can do to the german jets and the ME-163's are a waste of $. I think it I should push through London and then branch out from there but if other have had success with another approach, I'm all ears.

Thanks - Cod

It's been a while since I played it but here goes:

1) Use strategic bombers on the US navy. You'll want to keep all your ships alive to use against the naval landings then later on shelling Liverpool and Manchester.
2) Paratroopers are good for capturing Exeter and Wales. They'll then block landed units from moving inland somewhat. The ones in Exeter can re-fly at the airfield there to help the final push. I used four total.
3) For the main push through London I didn't need any special tactics. I landed as many units on turn one as I could including AA traps then pushed gradually north to the top of the map. Some units were landed in the northeast and were useful in defending the Ouse bridgehead.
4) Don't forget to use your rockets. Hopefully you also have some saved from previous scenarios. Use some of the last rockets spawned on the AA in the very north.
5) Don't upgrade to Gothas or Amerika Bombers unless you're already maxed out in over-strength.
