evading and a table edge

evading and a table edge

If a BG will evade off the table, it has the option instead to turn then wheel to move parallel to the table edge (p67). When can this turn be made? When the BG touches the table edge, or at anytime before?

The wording in the book says "meets" the table edge when evading. Therefore it would have to touch the table edge before making the turn or wheel. This only applies if it is not your rear table edge.
