Alexander campaign - Nubian reinforcements

Post by Froz »

Hello everyone in the New Year :).

I'm playing the Alexander fictional campaign. I managed to conquer Carthage and Iberia and now I'm trying to handle Gauls, but it doesn't seem I will succeed with my current units, so I might have to go back.

Between Carthage and Spain, I had an option to get Nubian reinforcements, which I took, hoping I would get some nice cavalry units. Nope, I got one cavalry and tons and tons of skirmisher units (I didn't count, but it's really a lot, like 10 light infantry + 3 or 4 light cavalry) and a couple irregular foot. Is that intended?

If that's intended, could that be fit in the description a bit? I mean, some very general information about what kind of reinforcements to expect? I'm trying to not reload in this campaign, but I'll probably have to, or admit defeat.

At first I thought it would turn out nice, but oh my, those Gauls... There are just too many of them (they have over 50k men versus my around 25k) and because of the numbers in each unit, skirmishers are very ineffective against them...

That is what the Numidian (not Nubian) army consists of.

You have a point.
