for those who have Nvidia graphic cards do the following:
1) go to your Nvidia Control panel (right click on desktop ,click on Nvidia Control panel , its a green icon)
2) go to Manage 3D settings in the upper left corner
3) in the middle of the screen , find DSR - Factors option and Check x2 native resolution and x4. in case your pc struggles with x4
4) THEN set DSR smoothness to either 0% if you are using 4k (4x) or minimum 15% if you are using 1440p (2x)
5)APPLY those settings, make sure to click on the apply button, should be in the lower right corner
6) EXIT
7) OPEN FOG 2
8)go to the settings and select the highest resolution , should be 3840 x 2160 pixels (thats 4k)
9)MAKE IT FULL SCREEN and then restart the game completely,by exiting to desktop
10) you are ready, Moderate to Significant improvement in quality
Note: in case you somehow forget to set it to full screen but you do select 3840x2160 pixels, when you enter the game next time your screen might not be positioned properly, to fix this go to C/documents/<your name>/Field of glory 2/OPTIONS
and find : Fullscreen 0
Set it to : Fullscreen 1
Yes there is one space between Fullscreen and the number.
its on the top of the page, u ll find it in 10 seconds
NOTE: this is for those people who have a NEWER versions of Nvidia cards, as far as i know older versions (older than 650) do not have it , but , you can check just in case in your nvidia Control panel (CP)
NOTE: Moderate to SIgnificat performance decrease might happen, even if you have something like gtx980
i would have included comparison photos but on screenshot its not as visible and it might seem to many people as something not worthy. improvement vary depending on : how close your screen is to your eyes and type of terrain and Angle
its Almost 4k quality

Re: Improve the way your FOG 2 looks
Thanks, I wasn't aware of this feature. I have an i5-based system with an Nvidia GTX 750 Ti and with the Factors option at 4x FOG 2 looked great but it slowed game play down to unbearably sluggish . I then set it at 3x and it still looked just as great as with 4x but the speed was back to where it was before I even tried these settings. Nice improvement!

Re: Improve the way your FOG 2 looks
could anyone make suggestions like this for a Radeon Mobility 5400 2 gb card please?
The game software is very smooth but the battle engine is pretty sluggish
(FYI AMD Phenom II CPU and just 8 gb ram here)

Re: Improve the way your FOG 2 looks
perhaps not then lol...... I may need to buy more up to date kit i think
Re: Improve the way your FOG 2 looks
i dont think its possible to do it for amd cards. the only thing u could do is maybe OVerride anti aliasing and set it to the highest number
Go to AMD control panel (3d settings) and then :
1) set anti alias mode to override
2) set Anti alias samples to the highest number u see
3)and set anti alias Method to Supersample
that COULD* work, but i am not sure , dont have AMD . if it doesnt , just revert back. theres nothing u can break

Re: Improve the way your FOG 2 looks
yeah thats pretty much how i have it, thanks for the feedback
Re: Improve the way your FOG 2 looks
Actually it's possible. You should run AMD Radeon Settings and click Display button. There is Virtual Super Resolution setting which is off by default. By turning it On you will be able to set 2K or 4K resolution.
