Forcing units to surrender

Post by Mercutio »

Hi Folks,

It has been a while since I played. I have just been getting back into it playing Sand Storm (Took Cairo! Woot!). I may be not remembering this correctly, but I could have sworn there was a way to cut off units and force them to surrender when their efficiency was at 0. What am I missing? Or am I thinking of a different game perhaps? I could have sworn scenarios like Bataan had that feature.

Thanks

If so, it's done specifically with scenario triggers, like with the Armoured Train in Warsaw/Blitzkrieg; surrender - and I think you mean the removal of the unit from the battlefield - doesn't happen like this per se. But you can destroy them easier, of course.

Thanks for the reply.

I was afraid of that. I guess it is tied up in the reduced combat factors when out of supply, but it isn't the same. It causes an extra attack or 2 to finish off a unit vs it just surrendering. I am in the middle of a bold encirclement in Kasserine Pass and wanted to see if I had another option than just attacking to the death.
