Tomorrow I shall try a version with an opacity identical to that of the locomotive.
Sorry to bother you with this, but I just tried again and couldn't get it changed in my paint program myself. All I see is a white picture and I don't know how to edit that... :D

So, whatever new icon ideas you'll come up with, thicker rails or different transparency, I'd be mucho grateful if you would share some of the results here. 8)

There is trick to see the white images. With paint.net (freeware), it is necessary to use "invert colors " and the white becomes black. You can then work with the inverted colors and at the end you redo this operation and the black becomes again white

T3 is perfect!
Better show these graphics with a standard zoom next time where everything must still be clearly visible.

Cheers! 8)

Looks very good.
I often have problems distinguishing between truck/rail transport 'shadows', so this is a very welcome mod.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, it seems I had the wrong "tool" for this kind of handywork. The paint.net software works better with this kind of image as the one I usually use (PSP).

YES, that's much better. THANK YOU, terminator!

I'll test how it looks like in winter scens, and if there are still changes to be made, I know now how to do them...

Originally, I thought of something like this, not pretty, but noticeable at first glance:

Don't you think that it would be necessary to change the color of the white arrow especially in winter ?

Sorry but the previous image I made more transparent all the image, maintaining I paid attention not to make any more transparent than the arrow :

Not really, no. The pathing is clearly visible at all times, IMO, never had any reason to want to change that. But your transparency idea looks good nevertheless: Could be a cool extra gimmick for those interested.

Some screenshots from the Moscow scen with the custom train icons. Terminator's "T3" version and mine, just to give some impressions:
(I think changing the icon was a great idea :D )

We could possibly make the rails a little wider and a little longer ?
It's a pity that it does not seem possible to change the color, I find the white really not have a practice especially in winter.

It's okay with the changes for me now. Actually, I have expected a bit more interest into this issue from others, but it is how it is. :)
Thanks again for the help Horst & terminator, now I know how to adjust the icon myself if needed. 8)
