Cheat code not working, help needed!!

Post by Halvralf »

Hi all. I have built a new computer and ofc I installed OOB first thing. I use Steam as it makes it possible to reinstall really fast.

As I wanted to check out a specific scenario I tried a couple of times by using #gimmeall on the main screen but nothing happens. All I can see is Panzerkrieg and the two scenarios I have played since reinstalling. So am I doing something wrong? Have something changed? All help is appreciated.

Cheers

I don't use Steam so I cannot comment on whether there is a problem with that. However, I can offer two ideas:

1) First, I just learned recently that #gimmeall does not work with custom campaigns, just official DLC. However, that appears to be not your problem so . . .

2) This is my best guess: When you download purchased DLC, you must enter a product key. This gets recorded someplace on your PC so that the game knows to allow you to play the DLC and, another guess, unlock the scenarios with #gimmeall. If I am correct, then I think you may need to re-enter your product keys for all other DLC that you have because those product key files don't exist on your new computer yet. Did you need to enter a product key when you began playing Panzerkrieg? If so, then that would be a strong clue.

I haven't used any purchase key except for Winterwar as I bought all the rest on Steam. Hmm maybe I bought Sandstorm aswell here as I got a discount for Beta testing it. Maybe if I start one turn in all Campaiagns will help? But as I have two scenarios from Panzerkrieg available I guess that won't work either. I can ofc always copy and paste the scenario to the scenario folder?

Problem solved!!!! As I had installed the game on my new SSD I forgot that it was not removed from the "old" disk that I use for storage now. I removed all files and rebooted computer , no change... I the quit the game and started it up and voila, there they were ...all my precious scenarios ....Thanks alot Bru even if I'm not sure I did it right...

Aha! So I was on the right track; apparently there is a mechanism whereby you cannot just move (or replicate) the DLC at will from one machine to another. It's got to be uninstalled from the old machine and reinstalled on the new one somehow. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Now, get ready for Endsieg!
