Klayeckles Seleucid (302-301BC) 61% defeats ianiow Indians (500BC-319AD) 38%

Wow, what a fun match...the Indians struggled to get their elephants into the game early, which was very fortunate for the Seleucids....the indian bowmen were caught and died quick deaths giving the Seleucids an early lead. then the elephants came to bare, and things began to turn. soon the indians were closing the gap, and the seleucids were left with not much but shredded cav and mobs to face the elephants. And the selucid cav had to chase down several indian troops that were rallied far to the rear. Night was closing in, and it was looking like a draw...rallies of seleucid troops made an indian victory unlikely and there were very few targets that the exhausted and bleeding seleucids could touch. but a seleucid cav managed a rear attack on a wounded elephant, which tied it up long enough for a mob to get a flank attack. as the last cresent of the sun dropped below the horizon, one last charge on the elphant broke it, while a lowly LC managed to chase an indian cav off the board to secure a victory. Fun one ian...i think we both learned a few things on that one!

A close and exciting game that went back and forth. Chinese 3 Kingdoms Wei had an early big lead before a Shu counterattack made it close and the game was not decided until the final turn only shortly before nightfall.

Weekly round-up
Things have opened up quite a bit in Division A this week. First of all, ruskicanuk (Ptolemaics) was beaten by NikiforosFokas (Carthaginians, Hannibal in Africa), but then ruskicanuk inflicted the second defeat in this section on pantherboy (Indians). Ludendorf (Seleucids) and klayeckles (Persians) both have games in hand and only have one defeat each so far. At the bottom, shadowblack (Bithynian) and shawkhan2 (Lysimachids) are still looking for their first points. In Division B , Ulysisgrunt (Jewish) is the leader in the clubhouse with 6 wins from his 9 matches. However, dkalenda (Macedonians) is just 4 points behind after winning his first 5 matches and rbodleyscott (Lysimachids) is also unbeaten, albeit after only 2 matches. Morbio (Jewish) looked to be making a strong challenge for the leadership in Division C with 3 wins in a row this week, but his charge towards the top was stopped by the present incumbent IMC (Galatians) in a thrillingly close match. Division D was won by youngr (Samnites) last week and Barrold 713 (Romans) can only be denied second place if he loses his last match to Tresantes (Pyrrhics) and Tresantes wins his last 3 matches as well.

With his victory over pantherboy (Spanish, Sertorius), ruskicanuk (Romano-British) has moved to the top of Division A with 6 wins from 6 starts. pantherboy is in second place, also with 6 wins and dkalenda (Ptolemaics) back in third with 4 wins from 5 matches. At the bottom of the table rexhurley (Palmyrans) , shawkhan2 (Sassanids)and shadowblack (Romans) are still looking for their first win. harveylh (Jewish Revolt) is in an almost impregnable position at the top of Division B after 6 straight wins.Second place looks to be between GDod (Arab, City), batesmotel (Germanic Horse Tribes) and XLegione (Huns). Things are very close in Division C with just 5 points covering the top 5 players and only 1 point covering the bottom five. jjaquemond (Romans) currently has his nose in front of Bluefin (Visigoths) but he has played 2 games more.
