I will end this test AAR with these two strategic map screenshots now as my initial three questions got answered. I hope you enjoyed it, even if it only was an unofficial pre-alpha test… :D

Here are also some quick observations for discussion:

1. Having some transports (plane, vessel, rail) would be really nice, sure this will impact the overall balance
2. It seems that some hexes continue to deplete fuel (even from foreign/enemy forces or from forces that just happen to be on the hex while passing the area)
3. You can't upgrade all units everywhere but at some city hexes you actually can, e.g. for truck transports. I guess this is because of the fact that the Allies can’t buy units anywhere?
4. Should there be a British aircraft carrier in the North Sea/North Atlantic, e.g. as part of the Home Fleet?
5. Maybe Newcastle should actually be a port city as well?
6. It seems some early planes can't be repaired

I can say that it will be very interesting for MP. :D

Yes, I look forward to playing the new multiplayer version of Battlefield Europe once released, although I haven’t played MP at all yet…

Maybe we should already start a list of people that are interested and that are also looking for an opponent!

I would love to play BE but mp would be cumbersome, as don't the turns take like 4 hours to play all your moves?

Hi goose_2, actually not really...

I think it is more like 20 to 30 min per turn when playing against the AI, maybe a bit longer when playing it the first time and/or when playing against a human opponent as you might have to think a bit more?

Not sure if you know these two playlists (both in German) but also here you can see the typical length of a turn:

The first two of the list are already involved in the MP testplay :)
This paired game. And it was already a little less than half. In total, about 85 turns.

I think the turn time depends on the player’s style of play.
Against AI, yes, maybe 30 minutes for clicking.
I spend about 1-1.5 hours, add thinking time against human and its lots of fun(I also look loss stat, take screenshots, look the equipment file, etc.).

Also, there is no need to immediately make a full move.
You can make half the move, save to the server and come back when you have time.

Thanks goose_2!

Just as an idea and as a potential alternative, we could also start with paired matches of the shorter and much smaller early war scenarios, e.g. with Poland. The BE Poland scenario is just 14 turns and the map is only 53x21 hexes while the main action happens on an area of around 20x20 hexes...

However, you would still require the BE mod to be installed?

Here is the map (with fog of war off):

Has this been changed with BE MP? As this is different with the normal MP, isn't it? Thanks!

No this is something you can do on any map, and something I have needed to do on occasion...Some maps are just too big to chew on in the time allotted so just back out by going to the gear and say quit to desktop or main menu and you will have your moves saved at that point to pick up where you left off when you are able to return
