Reference Card?

Post by MPHopcroft1 »

Does anyone have a "reference card" that will show me the basic commands to do things like move adn rotate the map, manage deployments, and the like? I'm very new to this game (still in the tutorials, finally beat the Romans in the first one) and am having trouble moving the map so I can see where to put my troops in the second tutorial (Phyrrus vs. the Carthegenians).

Hit F1. It will give you a list of hotkeys while in game. I think there is also a list in the manual but in-game is always better.

I've been using the mouse exclusively. Still haven't quite figured out deployment (beat the tutorials anyway, but fought to a bloody draw in the first Quick Battle I was in, which I could have won had I been set up better).

Congrats on beating the tutorials and a hard fought quick battle!

Positioning is super important especially on some maps.

Also if you haven't already definitely turn on the detailed combat reports. They will show you all the PoA (Points of Advantage) and also any terrain modifiers effecting a given combat.

The manual explains how to move generals around and also how to assign units to different commands during deployment. The hints and tips section of the manual is also worth a skim.
