Wargames Factory Romans

Post by Andy1972 »

I am putting together my first 25mm army for any system... Later Republican Roman, Picked up 2 boxes of Caesar's Legions.. Quite nice figs and cheap! However.. I am looking.. The heads glue into the body.. Kinda weird looking IMO. Anyone have any tips? I am very lazy FYI. It's like pulling teeth to put these guys together. Let alone paint.. Though i do want to paint these guys myself.. To look and say i did that! 15mm.. I am not above paying people to paint my stuff. 25mm is a bit more personal for me, for some reason. :D

What kind of glue are you using?

You really need to be using something like a liquid plastic cement of the type used to build plastic kits.

Yup - I've used the GW stuff and it works well - also quite quick.

Can't say that I think the figures llok weird after assembly eaither as long as you put the heads, etc. in sensible positions of course :P

I am using plastic glue.. Testors model masters.. It dries fast and makes a good bond.. I did try super glue.. Didnt like that too much.

That sounds like the right stuff. They shouldn't be that hard to assemble.
Have you tried posting on the Wargames Factory forum?

Do check out their website. There are articles that contain suggestions on positions to assemble the minies in. I found that to copy the positions of the WGF Romans are in is to have many of them looking over their left shoulders.

Anyway, check out the website, it's various sections and the forum that's been started there.

I use Testors glue/cement too. The one in the orange tube. I also allow drying time in between assemble stages.

I have a platic bottle with a metal tube.. It works quite nice.. And they give you a cleaning metal bit to stick down the tube to clear it out. My first 2 BG i put together without looking at the sight.. lol.. Goodness this is gonna be fun getting these guys on a 60x20 base. My last 4 BG should be much better. I must admit.. I was tempted to paint w/o putting the shields on yet.. But a friend of mine told me to paint them WITH the shields on.. Maybe so with metals.. anywho.. Ill look at the sight again. Thanks all! :D

Comparably Sized Figures

Post by menard »

Does anyone have a suggestion for a metal range that matches up well with these?

I have some of the WF models, but I'm looking to get a few models for command bases. I just want to make sure they are close enough in size and proportion.

From the size comparison picture in the last issue of Slingshot they are about the same size as Foundry.
