Mesopotamian epic battle maps are very nice

Post by Nijis »

As a fan of arid terrain who's had the opportunity to spend a fair amount of time in Mesopotamia, I have to say that I really like the attention to detail, especially for in Opis and Carchemish.

Some nice points..

1) Small washes run into a larger river
2) Land gets more green as you get closer to the waterways, where palms and other trees grow thick
3) Not the all desert is barren - the Opis map has a very nice mix of desert steppe (ie, grass growing on arid terrain) and scrub bordering the agriculture
4) Villages are sometimes on low tels (ie, Carchemish)

Hi Nijis,

I was very interested in your forum thread from last year, and I often referred to it when designing the scenarios:

Hi Paul - that's very gratifying to hear. Thank you! And they do indeed look very authentic.
