Multiplayer Battles

Post by SimonLancaster »

I have started playing mp battles and they are fun. However, some of the battles seem almost ridiculously weighted towards one army. The Battle of Cannae has 13 Carthaginian inf v 34 Roman inf. The actual historical accounts state that it was about 2v1 in favour of the Romans at 80,000 v 40,000 inf so the FoG 2 mp battlefield is even worse for the Carthaginians.

Bibracte also seems really difficult for the Romans to win and they actually won that battle.

I played Bagradas and that went absolutely to the wire - we were at 59% casualties each before Rome finally won. That is an example of a well balanced battle. I also think Zama is nicely balanced as players can win as Carthage.

Any thoughts or recounts of your mp battles welcome!

I get beat more than a rented mule. Enjoyed the heck out of nearly all of them. Met a bunch of great peeps and learned something from each except perhaps how to apply that learning to winning the next battle.

The digital league is still recruiting for the next season which is a great opportunity to get even more from the game.
