Weird game

Post by HobbesACW »

Playing the Malta scenario and suddenly many more ships of the Italian Navy appear in the middle of the battle. Right in the middle of the battle as if they were transported in by alien dropships. As CINC you would think I might have some idea that a huge fleet of my own ships might appear. I like this game but this sort of event does it no favours.

I think what the op is trying to say is that... The briefings should be a bit more specific on scenario reinforcement design. It's too vague currently when it doesn't make sense to be as is the case of reinforcements. The command clearly should be aware of how many units are coming and when because there is radio contact. It makes sense to make counterattacks, enemy disposition, or changing mission objectives vague but not reinforcements.

It's been my experience over the years that 99.9% of all the briefings for all the scenarios in all of the releases of OOB are like that.

More information is needed and don't give me that fog of war crap. I'm fine not knowing enemy unit placements or strengths, but I should at least have a vague idea of which direction the enemy is coming from.

It's almost as if they saw the janitor standing there not doing anything and asked him to write the briefing.
