Is their a mod which makes armies to scale in this?

Field of Glory II is a turn-based tactical game set during the Rise of Rome from 280 BC to 25 BC.

Is their a mod which makes armies to scale in this?

Would love to see hundreds of men in tight knit formations instead of the 8 or so per hex.
Also is their any sort of mod allowing continuous formations linked together over hexes? To simulate a massive phalanx or such?

There are a couple here:

Note that you should not play MP with a modded main build. Really you should not mod your main build at all, you should clone the existing folders in the editor and put the mod in those. It's a bit more complicated but a lot safer.

Shame. That mod does not improve numbers appreciably. Here is what it looks like to me (1993 game iirc) in terms of unit numbers. Although I guess it does simulate massive an older 1/48 huge miniatures tabletop game I guess.

That is precisely what it is supposed to simulate. (At 1:60 figure to men ratio)

It is funny when you get a computer simulating the limitations of a tabletop. I think this game is kind of cute in a reminiscing kind of way. I will eventually get it on sale for a bit of nostalgia.
But when we had tabletops we were dreaming of computers being able to simulate things properly. There are no wargames I know of including total war that come close still...
If this was WEGO and could show massed men with some form of good animation (not expecting individual animation), just basic gif style would be ok. Maybe in FOG3 or some other title.

How would you display massed formations of men @ 1-1 with animations without having each individual modeled and without animation?

I’m less interested In fancy graphics versus performance. Ironically, as pc turn based tactical games seem to need hexes or grids, you lose some of the fidelity of what some tt games offer: actual unit frontage, depth and the footprint of the unit as it: loses or changes formation, takes casualties, becomes dispersed through terrain or giving chase etc.
Would like to see that in FOG3 :)

I much prefer the way Pike and Shot handles graphics. Battles look like real battles as presented in art of the period rather than like tabletop miniatures (I would play miniatures if I wanted that).

Personally I would like a 10-1 scaling the most, but it doesn't bother me.

However, you cant see the formation strength going down in pike and shot. However, in FOG2, you can.

True, but it is not beyond the wit of man to reconcile the two systems.

Not me, I have absolutely zero interest in having to set up a table, buying and painting an army's worth of figures, and then trying to find opponents with the huge variety of armies available in FOG2. I'm perfectly happy with the visual scale in this game and would not play miniatures under any circumstances.

Absolutely! Having to buy and paint figures was always the worst thing about table top gaming for me. And for the first half of y life that was the only way of doing it. In the 70's as an impoverished teenager I used to play a lot of table top cardboard cut out games where the cardboard figure bases were the only thing on the table. As much if not more fun than the figure games I have played.
