Ambushes

Post by Beorn »

Continuing to watch DasTactic's videos, I am seeing him hit with quite a few ambushes, but as far as I have noticed, he has not discussed using ambushes themselves.

Could you please enlighten us as to this game mechanic, and what is necessary to use it?

Hi Beorn,
I might not have seen all Das' videos. Would you mind to point me to right video and time so I can have a look?

Sure, I was watching this one this morning, and it was the ambushes in this video that motivated me to ask. But I remember this happening previously also.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCHKH2KJLjs&t=1279s One of the ambushes was at 14:40

(I am less concerned about the event in DasTactic's game, though, than I am interested in the overall mechanic.)

In this case it is a semi-random event. The main point of this event is to "teach" the player to not move his units along the front-line but rather withdraw them from the "border" and move to another location inside your territory.
You cannot do much about it but if you avoid moving your units along the front-line when enemy units are nearby, you should be ok.
If you dont like it altogether, you can always turn these events off.
