I was gaming the War of Mantuan Succession in Italy between Spain and France(early 1600's). Me as the French. So I advanced my pike units forward toward the Spanish, eventually get within shooting range then charge. Imagine my surprise when well beyond the arquebusier range of 2 squares, my pikers are being shredded by fire from some Spanish later tercios. What the heck? I hovered the pointer over the enemy tercios in question, poof! They've got muskets! Who knew! Carnage proceeded as my pikers bravely(maybe foolishly) charged forward to wrestle those muskets out of the Spaniards hands. I took terrible loses and was narrowly defeated, only my valiant veteran pikers gave a good account of themselves. So the moral of this debacle: research your enemy before you pick fights with them. At the very least hover your pointer over their units to get a handle on things. :roll:
Hard lesson learned.
