Shards' Summer Scenario Shakedown - The 400

Hi!

I'm a firm believer that Creativity loves Constraint. So, I'm going to set a challenge to you fine folk of the OOB Scenario Design Corps and see how many of you can rise to the occasion?

(I'm also doing this a bit for myself. Gabe has poked me to create a new SP challenge but I'm in need of some inspiration )

Here's the details:

- Create a new standalone Single Player Scenario
- Of no more than 400 hexes in size! (This can be any combination of width & height, but no more than 400 in area. So 20x20 is fine, as is 26x15 etc).
- Submit it to this forum before the end of August 2018.

That's it. You can do any theatre, any force size and it's up to you how close to History you want to stick.

Needless to say, this is my thing, not an official competition or anything! As such, if no-one's interested and this all falls apart, I won't be offended

If there's enough interest though, i'm sure I can convince someone to put up a small prize!

Don't think so.... and if you want to just keep teleporting the buggers in via trigger too, that's fine.

I've just made a small test and the 20x20 limit's making naval engagements practically impossible. More of a land battle then?

How about the Belgians taking on some French? A purely fictional scenario "The St. Tropez Incident"

My prototype is just a map outline so far. 16x25, beach landing in the south working though jungles, swamps, deserts and mountains to conquer a well guarded city...

Kinda like an old school too down shooter map

Thanks! Unlike my other scenarios however, you will be able to choose your core starting force. That should allow for more flexible gameplay.

Instead of Belgians, it would have been more logical to put Italian.
The Italian invasion of France, also called the Battle of the Alps (10–25 June 1940), was the first major Italian engagement of World War II and the last major engagement of the Battle of France :

But, terminator, you didn’t take into account the whole fictional part of history preceding the "St. Tropez Incident": In the early 19th century, after a short period of being part of the first French Empire, the "Greater Belgian Empire" rose to power after annexing the Netherlands, parts of the German Union and large territories of the weakened French Restauration after the 1830’s revolution… and that was just the beginning…

..oh come, on... It was just fun to choose a faction with a very limited roster of units to make it hard to win...
