Computer crashes during AI turn
Whenever it goes into the AI's turn, especially in late game (past 170 turns), my computer crashes every single time. I am not sure what the issue is, but basically the game will slow down and lag a lot during the AI's turn, and then eventually everything stops running and the screen turns black. I'm not able to capture a screenshot because my computer basically stops running (everything goes black, everything becomes unreponsive, etc.) and I don't receive an error message or anything after I manually force shut down and restart my computer (by pressing the switch for a while).
Is there a way to solve the issue, or is the problem with my computer?

Oh, here's my error log. I'm not sure how to attach it here, but I guess I copy and paste the whole thing?

Normally those lines should include the name of the method in which the crash occured aswell as the call-hirarchy and not just the name of the binary. That's the information a developer needs to find a bug and without there's not really a good chance to find where in the code the error is.
Well, I guess we could still assert that the logging itself is bugged when it doesn't contain these vital information.

That means I'm pretty much screwed, doesn't it?
A real pity, because I really love this game and was looking forward to any DLC. But if I can't play it, there's really no point...

Re: Computer crashes during AI turn
Nah, don't give up so easily.
Do you happen to have a savegame from right before the crash? Because that's gonna help them find and fix the reason for the crash aswell.

I actually do. Um, how do I get access to it, and how do I submit it?

Savegames are stored here:
c:\Users\<Your Username>\Documents\Proxy Studios\Gladius\SavedGames\SinglePlayer\
and in order to attach them here you must first put it in a ZIP-archive or something similar.

Thanks!
Here's an update. Thanks to my brother's advice, I somewhat mitigated the problem by running the game in windowed rather than full screen and lowering the resolution of the game. But I ended up getting this error instead.

Re: Computer crashes during AI turn
Thank you!
For now my solution is to keep it windowed, play under a lower resolution and the game no longer crashes. I also notice that the game doesn't lag as badly when I play smaller maps and against less AI opponents. The issue only happened when I was playing against 7 other AI enemies on a huge map, but the problem no longer occurs when I play against 5 AI enemies (or ally with 1 AI against 4 AIs) on a medium map. Maybe it's my computer, but I'm running a Nvdia GTX870 so I don't know why it's failing me.
Once again, I'm very grateful to you for producing this game! It's awesome and I look forward to DLC and more factions! With the Kastelan Robots removed from the Imperial Guard roster, I'm guessing you'll have an Adeptus Mechanicus faction in the near future?
For now my solution is to keep it windowed, play under a lower resolution and the game no longer crashes. Re: Computer crashes during AI turn
post a report and also lets have a look at your start up etc, then i may have a better idea of what's happening and be able to help more
How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:
1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.
once the report has been made, just attach it to your post with first adding the file to a zip, which is then permitted to attach to the forum

Re: Computer crashes during AI turn
thanks Knights of House Yato, here's my report and opinion, nice laptop, but very out of date motherboard, bios and attached hardware drivers, something that windows update doesn't fix, you need to manual down the latest drivers from the link below for the motherboard drivers, learn how to update the motherboard bios and update it, which is easy with the tools provided and also then update the sound chip drivers and then the GPU, i'd do both, but tbh the Nvidia is the one you need to use with games, so makes sure you tell the game to use it, as atm it's not the default card, so won't be used, no matter what, as games and software programs in general have no idea on what you have as hardware wise, and only uses the default, which you have set to Intel(R) Iris(TM) Pro Graphics 5200, which is why the game falls over, as not enough dedicated base memory to use, and while it has shared memory, most apps and program and nearly all games won't use either,...
just notes for the developer to comment on, laptop
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4860HQ CPU @ 2.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
high end cpu and memory
User DPI Setting: 192 DPI (200 percent)
System DPI Setting: 240 DPI (250 percent)
default is 96DPI
Card name: Intel(R) Iris(TM) Pro Graphics 5200 (none gaming card)
Display Memory: 2160 MB
Dedicated Memory: 112 MB low gpu memory
Shared Memory: 2048 MB
Current Mode: 3200 x 1800 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor Model: LQ140Z1JW01
Monitor Id: SHP1401
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M 2nd gpu
Display Memory: 14259 MB
Dedicated Memory: 6108 MB
Shared Memory: 8150 MB
not used as no monitor attached
Driver Date/Size: 25-Jun-17 both using windows update drivers, not the latest one for either
Realtek High Definition Audio again windows update drivers and very old 25-Mar-14
a couple of blue screen error events in logs, so hardware / software / driver conflicts already known
recommend
update all motherboard drivers. plus sound plus vga
change vga to main default for game, eg not the Intel one, but the correct one, the Nvidia one
and re test results, as Nvdia GTX870 isn't used as isn't attached to a monitor in report so not the default card

Sure, you should ingame warn to first verify the updates of our drivers if we have a crash.
What a bug is to not telling this..
Re: Computer crashes during AI turn
this maybe still a bug in the end, i'm just saying it helps to have the pc updated with the latest bug free drivers as possible, which most of the time helps
