Kudos to Richard Bodley Scott...

...for this game. I'm really enjoying it(and to be honest, liking it better than FOG II). By far I am no expert in this era, but the game gives a great feel to the battles. And I must be honest this game is far more challenging for me than other Slitherine games you and your team have developed. I lose a lot more than I win(which is humbling and instructive) and the games I do win are real nail-biters, could go either way..
So thanks again for this great game and if you are developing P&S II, I'm all in!
Cheers
Alex

I think for now they are quite busy developing DLCs for FoG 2, hopefully to eventually cover something like 700BC - 1500AD. If you like this one, make sure to check out Sengoku Jidai: Shadow of the Shogun.

Just out of curiosity, what would you want to see in a Pike and Shot II, besides improved visuals?

Hi SnuggleBunnies. Yes improved graphics sure, but nothing radical just more defined looking troops. Also like to see a bit more zoom in-ability. Wouldn't mind some melee visuals(ie: pikes going down and poking at the enemy) but the present graphics are 2D I believe, I would not like to see this done in 3D. A biggie is an undo button. Also when a unit is degraded from steady to disrupted lets say, that the 2D graphics reflect this(units look more scruffy/haggard.) When a unit breaks and routs I'd like the 2D animation to make it look like a fleeing mob, not the pristine unit that it formerly looked like. I love the look of the maps, but a bit richer textures and more pronounced terrain would be nice. Oh and the extra nations mod should be included standard so that we get to play more armies/nations. Overall Richard and team have done a great job and the things I've suggested are minor tweaks as opposed to a radical overhaul. Just my two shekels worth...

...oh, as a late remembrance, the painted pictures that represent the units, it would be real nice to have them different, instead of using some of the same pictures for different type units...

Personally, I like the graphical approach which is very reminiscent of the illustrations of 17th century battles. However, I find it quite difficult to visualise easily so would like to see cavalry and light troops more distinctively portrayed and the facing a little bit more obvious.

For the record, the game is 3d; there is a rotate camera function included.

I believe that the undo button in FoG II is the reason why shooting is by the phasing player only.
I much prefer the P&S shooting system.
Also skirmishers shooting in FoG II ruin the game (imo) whereas in P&S the interaction of skirmishers seems right to me.

I would like to see some form of Command & Control by Generals, seems to work in FoG II.

Yes a big 'Thank you' to RBS for a fantastic game.
