Modded SFX and GFX not working

It seems that neither the modded sounds or the skins/textures are working ... I did modding in the game dir, but now I tried to create a Mod folder - and tried other mods too (GabeKnight's) and sounds are absent.
I was told that textures should go to the units/textures folder - none are displayed. Not in the game folder not in a separate mod folder. What happened???

Can't comment on the skins/textures, but the added sound for the railgun in my mod works for me at least. Sure, the mod's outdated and there's the new units missing, but I've started Blitzkrieg right now, and the sound (and the rest of the mod) works with OoB v6.1.9...

I have installed your mod, but the sound is not audible. I changed the effect TXT to play a stock sound, and THEN it is audible. Why the game fails to find the WAV file, then?

I gonna go crazy.... NOW my custom sound is audible... BUT the game refuses to start with any other mod... I got a black screen with a window frame. Not frozen, I can close it.

Still the same, but now not even the stock game starts. With no mods, also the same. Only my mod works... Tried the trick with the options.dat - no change

I needed a reinstall. Stock game works. My Mod works. Other Mod's do not...
